Week in Pictures ~ 3

It has been a hectic week and I have not completely succeeded at my January resolution to take more pictures. I have managed to make sure I always have my camera with me, but have not graduated to the step of making sure I actually use it.
1. Cave Drawing
This week we began Chapter 1 in SOTW. Our end of week project was for Chloe to do a cave drawing.

2. Stonehenge
The teens have reached Europe in their study of world geography. Their art project for the week was to construct a replica of Stonehenge. Here is Sierra recreating it with Play-doh.

3. Lock Down
This week we, Chloe and I, took tour of our local police station. In this picture she is having blast being locked in the back of the police cruiser; her little friend, not so much.

4. Family Story Time
Chloe and I went to family story time this week at our local library. It is the first time we have been and Chloe really enjoyed herself. They got to listen to several stories by Mo Willems and then make a craft of the pigeon—one of the characters from his books. Chloe and I have really enjoyed the pigeon books in the past.

5. Gingerbread House
This week we finally assembled our Gingerbread House.

6. Shopping
In preparation for the funeral, we have had to rush around and get dress clothes for everyone. We are a very relaxed and casual family, and therefore do not own the clothing that would be appropriate for such a sad occasion. I am not someone who enjoys shopping, but under such circumstances I have grown to detest it all the more.

7. Finished Drawing
This is Chloe's completed drawing.

8. Park Day!
It was absolutely gorgeous here, so we took advantage of the weather and headed to the park to hang out and play with friends.

9. Miniature Museum
Not sure where the idea came from, but Chloe decided to make a miniature museum. Here are her exhibits.

10. A Great Loss
This week we received grave news. My husbands father lost his battle with leukemia on Friday night. Our mourning was reflected in the weather, as we awoke to a weekend full of grey skies and rain.
We all love you grandpa and will miss you terribly.

*****It was very hard to remember all of the good times we had earlier this week as my heart is heavy with our loss.
