Ever since I first ran across art journaling I have been drawn to it. I love the idea of mixed media and the wonderful mixture of art and journaling.
Art is not something I seem to have, or shall I say make, the time to do ever since I have had children. I have put it on the backburner and placed other things that I felt more important ahead of it. I miss it. I began scrapbooking a little less than a year ago and I find it gives me that creative outlet that I am looking for. The feeling that I get after completing a page is hard to explain, but it brings me a sense of joy. Sadly, I do not seem to make time for scrapbooking either.
I am determined to make time for more creativity this year. I will force myself to sit down with booster seat and draw in my science journal right along side her. I really enjoy myself when I do, but I rarely make the time. There is always something more productive I feel I should be using that time for.
This year, I am also requiring all of us (minus my husband, of course) to start an art journal. My plan is to complete an art journal entry each week. We will use the ideas that I have gained from some incredible women in the blogishpere. I am grateful to them for generously sharing their many art journaling ideas. I have compiled all of the ideas and created an Art Journaling Idea Book. I am sure their will be more than enough ideas to get us through the school year and hopefully instill in all of us a renewed love of art and a habit that will last for many years to come.
Here are some great art journaling ideas:
